À propos de l'événement

Symphonic suite by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Sheherazade crowns a list of beautiful works of the mid and late 19th century, based on the oriental theme. At that time, Russian composers were particularly attracted by the mysterious oriental patterns.

The source of the plot for Scheherazade is the collection of folktales from India, Iran and the Arab peoples - One Thouthand and One Night. He was widely known in the 17th century.

Rimsky-Korsakov became the first composer who was not afraid to refer to it. Many thought that some episodes were too brutal, even daring.

Katerina Barsukova will perform with the Athens Symphony Orchestra a series of sand drawings inspired by beautiful music. Can you guess an ultimate desire of Scheherazade who bewitched Sultan Schahriar with these stories?
